IT STARTS AT HOME…
Caroline’s inspiration comes at home, life’s daily rituals: designing and making objects to use, share, interact with. The cup for the morning coffee, a vase for stems picked from the garden in the summer months. She is continually inspired to make objects that make life’s simple rituals just that bit more pleasing. Home is where her creativity finds inspiration and resolution.
The humble everyday object should be a joy to use; should function well, please the eye, feel good in the hand. That’s what sparks her creativity. Design and craft hold equal balance, without compromise. And in making functional objects these pleasures can be shared. Ideas are exlpored and responses made in the material, personalising her material use, always to her best ability.
She loves clean silhouettes, serving her food on snow-white tableware. Having a one-off piece of work in a living room singing in a jewel colour.
